I’m so glad you’re here, and honored that our paths are crossing at this juncture in your life.

I understand that therapy is a financial commitment. That’s why I have chosen areas of practice that have strong research support. While no therapist can guarantee that you will get the results you want, relying on validated techniques allows you to hedge your bets that you’ll see meaningful improvement. I also make use of the latest developments from the rapidly evolving field of neuroscience in such a way to leverage growth and healing. By combining psychotherapy with assistive technology, I hope to improve your odds of success even more and provide you with an extra layer of value.

it’s a lot of work to find a therapist. you’ve probably scrolled through miles of professional profiles, hoping to glean a hint of who might be right for you. fit is important.

Therapy is a partnership. Many of the methods I use require you to follow through at home on your own between sessions. Those who do the best are committed to their own growth and work hard to get to the root of what’s going on. I will be encouraging you every step of the way, but before you invest your time and money, make a realistic assessment of your current resources and schedule.

Through collaboration, we’ll develop a plan for therapy that focuses on your specific goals. I’ll bring my expertise in mental health to our time together, and lean on you for your expertise in your personal experience.

Does is sound like what i offer might be a good match for your needs?

If yes, I would be glad to discuss your goals and concerns with you. I work with adults in individual therapy. Here are some questions that people often have about getting started in therapy with me:

  • I am an out-of-network provider, and don’t directly bill insurance for treatment. While I don’t accept insurance directly, it may be possible for you to receive reimbursement from your insurance company depending on your out-of-network benefits. I recommend calling your insurance company to find out what insurance benefits would look like for an out-of-network provider.

Because insurance companies dictate clinical decisions such as length of treatment, frequency/length of sessions, and mandated mental DSM mental health diagnosis for coverage, I don’t contract with them, and instead focus on providing the best care for all of my patients without the extra layer of intrusion that insurance reimbursement requires.

Bypassing insurance also allows me the utmost flexibility and privacy for my patients. Without having to provide a mental health diagnosis, I’m able to keep your records more secure and confidential. There will be no diagnosis on your health record, and no one will ever know you’re in therapy unless you tell them.

As a courtesy to those of you who wish to use your insurance benefits, I am happy to provide you with documentation that you can submit to your health insurance company. If your plan covers out-of-network outpatient mental health services, you may be eligible to get a portion of you session costs covered.

As an alternative to insurance reimbursement, and in an effort to preserve privacy, many patients opt to use their health savings account (HSA) or flex spending account (FSA) if those funds are available. Usually, the most convenient method of payment is by credit card through my secure, HIPAA-compliant online portal.

See my “Insurance Help” tab for more information on filing for insurance benefits.

  • I do! I usually conduct remote sessions by phone. For video sessions, I use a secure HIPAA approved platform, Simple Practice. Often a combination of in-person and telehealth sessions works well. See the tab “Virtual Therapy Details” for more information.

  • I find I do my best work earlier in the day. I don’t schedule any weekend appointments at this time.

  • My in-person and online psychotherapy rates are customary for my practice area (Denver, 80210). See my “Insurance Help” tab for more information.

Initial Intake Appointment (75 minutes): $250

Standard 60 minute Individual session: $200

I am able to prorate sessions at a rate of $200 per hour. For example, a 30 minute follow-up session would be charged at the rate of $100, or a 45 minute session at $150.

I offer a discount on ongoing sessions lasting longer than one hour.

Equipment rental is optional, and additional to psychotherapy charges.

I offer a limited number of psychotherapy slots at a reduced rate. If you’re not sure, ask!
